Established in 1991 by Niju Padia and Hitesh Mehta, Alang Maritime has grown to be one of South East Asia’s premier stockists of new, as well as used and reconditioned parts for marine diesel engines. Located at the heart of the Indian ship recycling industry, we are uniquely suited to meet the ever increasing demands of the shipping industry, providing quality parts at a fair price and low lead times.
We stock genuine and OEM marine diesel engine parts, always adhering to high quality standards. Parts are only stocked once they have been thoroughly inspected to the highest of quality standards by our engineers. Our technical capability along with our transparency has enabled us to be an attractive alternative in the shipping industry for many customers who want a reliable supplier of second-hand engine parts without compromising on quality.

1991
Niju Padia and Hitesh Mehta establish Alang Maritime as a partnership.
1993
Foreign trade begins with the sale of VTR501 turbocharger bearings to a workshop in Italy.
1994
Supply of Daihatsu and Pielstick engine parts begins to trading houses in Greece and Cyprus.
1997
Acquisition of 18,000 m2 land along with construction of 650 m2 warehouse for centralised stocking.
2000
Supply of marine engine parts and turbocharger parts begins to companies in Germany and Singapore.
2001
Supply of marine engine parts begins to companies in The Netherlands and England.
2005
Change in business strategy with a more specific focus on supplying two-stroke and four-stroke marine diesel engine parts.
2010
A special stocking program of Yanmar medium-speed diesel engine parts begins.
2011
Warehouse size is expanded to 1,300 m2 in order to double our stocking capacity.
2014
Procurement expands to buying high quality second-hand engine parts from the Bangladesh ship recycling industry.
2020
Supply of engine room machinery to ship management companies in India and abroad begins.
2022
A new warehouse of 2,500 m2 is constructed to improve our stocking capacity.
2024
Alang Maritime starts working on government projects in Kenya.
HUGE STOCK
Alang Maritime prides itself on maintaining a huge stock of engine parts for two-stroke and four-stroke marine diesel engines. We mainly stock parts for European, Japanese and Korean engines. Because of decades of experience as a proven supplier with a lot of technical knowledge and considerable stocking space, we now carry a stock of 25,000+ engine parts at any given time. We stock critical engine components such as crankshafts, engine blocks, cylinder heads, cylinder liners, pistons, connecting rods, pumps, valves, valve seats, piston rings, bearings and water jackets. This has also helped us considerably reduce lead times and has made us an attractive alternative for ship managers when engine makers give them a very lengthy lead time, especially for parts belonging to legacy engines.
LARGE WAREHOUSES
With two warehouses having a combined stocking space of over 3,500 m2, we make sure that there is more than enough room for our engine parts to be stocked safely. Both warehouses also have dual overhead cranes with a maximum lifting capacity of 35 tons, each. This helps us manoeuvre not only major components like engine blocks and crankshafts but also complete engines and generator sets with a bore as high as 380 mm.
The space also helps our team of engineers carry out multiple projects – such as dismantling a complete engine or inspection of a batch of cylinder heads – simultaneously. This prevents a delay in operations and always keeps us on track to deliver engine parts on schedule.
STRATEGICALLY LOCATED
Located in the industrial area of Mamsa, just a little under forty kilometres away from the Alang ship recycling yard, we have access to more than 150 ship recycling plots from where we can procure high quality second-hand engines and spare parts. We also benefit from our long standing business relationships with multiple local engine parts suppliers within Alang.
We can dispatch parts from our warehouse to ports such as Nhava Sheva and Mundra in less than a day. Whether you require your parts to be shipped via air, sea or road, we can deliver on time through close partnerships with logistics companies and supply parts according to your preferred Incoterms.

With the bulk of our procurement taking place from ship recycling yards and surplus stock from cancelled shipbuilding projects at shipyards, we can provide a greener alternative to producing new spare parts and even complete engines.
