MAN B&W L23/30H ENGINE PARTS SUPPORT
Alang Maritime has supplied MAN B&W L23/30H parts for three different projects in as many months.
The first project was supplying parts for an overhaul of a 5L23/30H engine in March. Three sets of cylinder heads, cylinder liners, pistons, connecting rods and six sets of piston rings were initially prepared for dispatch. The cylinder heads were reconditioned and fitted with new valves and valve seats, the cylinder liners were supplied with new o-rings, and the connecting rods were put through ovality testing and one of the small end bushes was replaced with a new one after surface damage was discovered in the old one. The order then grew more to include six plunger barrels, a bunch of o-rings and screws, that we sourced and supplied on less than a day’s notice.
The second was a pretty straightforward project of supplying three new L23/30H connecting rods. This enabled us to showcase our wide network for procuring engine parts that are scarce in the Indian market, with new connecting rods for L23/30H being available at a premium at the time.
The third project involved the dispatch of MAN B&W L23/30H parts to Singapore. Two cylinder heads and a cylinder liner along with a few flame rings and sealing rings. The heads were, again, reconditioned with new consumables.
